Are You an Advocate?
A Sister to Sister Advocate is a woman who agrees to be a one-on-one mentor for a fellow Sister. In the Advocate program, we’ll team you up with a divorced woman, your new “sister”, and your goal will be to care, support, and encourage her consistently (approximately 1/2 hour per week). You will also be her personal liaison to the S2S organization and ensure that she is getting all the services available to her.
Your support will be a source of strength to her so that she can stand on her own.

Sister to Sister Group Leaders are supportive lead contacts assigned to small groups of divorced women. As a group leader, you will speak to your designated group of 10-12 Sisters on a quarterly basis. You will phone them to inform them of new opportunities, check up on their Yom Tov prep, or ‘just because’. Your goal will be to ensure that all women within your group are aware of the network of services available to them. The warmth and caring that a ‘just checking in’ phone call relays cannot be underestimated. Group Leaders (like most S2S volunteers) are required to undergo relevant training by the Sister to Sister staff. Apply to be a group leaderAre You a Captain?
A Sister to Sister Captain is a matchmaker and supportive mentor overseeing pairs of advocates and sisters within your community. You’ll meet each sister, assess her needs, and together with the S2S staff, find an appropriate advocate to serve as her mentor. You’ll make the introductions and ensure the relationship develops properly. You will also be available to both Sister and Mentor for any issues or questions that may arise.
Note: Some captains may also coordinate their own local events and get-togethers.
Captains (like most volunteers) are required to undergo relevant training by the Sister to Sister staff.
