Divorce can be lonely despite a wealth of well-meaning family and friends.
A neutral sounding board and empathetic ear can be an invaluable source of practical assistance and emotional support. When you are looking for a friend or confidante who will truly understand your struggles minus the blame and stigmatization, our advocates and group leaders are ready. Our network of volunteer mentors range in ages, backgrounds and style, and our ‘matchmakers’ will pair you with a woman you can depend on for the support you want.
As a Sister, you have two mentoring options to choose from. You may choose from one of the following options.
One-on-One-Advocate
The S2S staff will pair you up with a like-minded woman of similar background who will be in touch with you consistently. She will become familiar with your situation, ensure you are getting the necessary services available, and offer you the friendship that is a critical component of an emotionally healthy life.
Group Leader
A group leader will touch base with you periodically throughout the year. She will check in with you to see how you and your family are doing, to ask what help you may need, and to make sure that you are aware of what Sister to Sister has to offer at that time.
